Friday, June 18, 10:00AM - 3:00PM

This dropped waist, ruffled dress looks great in size 3T - Size 6. For older girls, it could easily be designed as a top to wear with denims or shorts.

T-Shirt

♦    Short sleeved t-shirt

♦    Knit tank top

♦    If you own an embroidery machine, consider adding the embroidery before class.

♦    If you don’t own an embroidery machine, consider purchasing a graphic t-shirt and selecting fabric to compliment the design.

Fabric Requirements

Because I don’t know what size dress you want to make, I’ve decided to eliminate the math and ask you to bring the following fabric:

♦    Select good quality, woven cotton fabric. It will shrink less and be easier to sew.

♦    If you want both ruffled layers to be made from the same fabric, bring one yard of fabric.

♦    If you want make the ruffles from two different fabrics, bring a half yard of each fabric.

Ribbon

I purchased ribbon in two different widths. I sewed the narrower width ribbon to the dress to cover the seam joining the t-shirt and the skirt. The wider ribbon, I tied into a bow and stitched to the dress.

To Do Before Class

□    Wash, dry and press the fabric.

□    Square one end of the fabric.

□    Cut a 4" strip across the width of fabric for testing ruffler settings. If you are using two different fabrics, cut this strip from the fabric you intend to use for the upper ruffle.

□    Hang the fabric from a clip hanger and bring to class.
