All of our service technicians are certified, and share decades of experience between them. We love keeping you in stitches, and our repair services are sure to help! We offer pick-up, where we will collect your machine, service it, and return it for an additional $25 fee anywhere within 15 miles of our flagship store. We are authorized dealers for Brother, Baby Lock, Janome, Pfaff, & Husqvarna/Viking. Only genuine parts are used, and all work is guaranteed. See our Services below.
Services
Basic Service: Less than 2 years since last service and/or minor parts replaced.
Includes 2 month warranty on service. Parts used are not included in service price.
Premium Service: Over 2 years since last serviced and/or machine is out of time, needle bar position is out of adjustment, needs intermediate parts replaced or will not form stitch properly. Includes a 3 month warranty on service.
Overhaul Service: Over 2 years since last service and/or is bound, frozen or requires major part replacement. Includes 6 month warranty on service.
We also offer scissor sharpening, basic to intermediate restoration services, and in some instances update the wiring using your original bakelite hardware. If you are experiencing difficulties, drop in and share them with us, we'd love to help.
Drop Off Service
Hip-hip-hooray! The Denton Sewing Center is now offering drop-off quilting services in-house at our Aubrey location at Boxcar Ranch!
The process is simple: Bring your quilt(s) to the shop during normal operating hours (Monday through Saturday, 10am - 4pm),
Choose your thread color and quilting pattern,
Leave it to us to call you when the quilt is complete!
Drop off services start at 2.75¢ per square inch for edge-to-edge quilting. Multiply length x width x .0275 to determine the square inches of your quilt top.
There is a minimum of $50.00 charge.
Seaming quilt backing is $15 per seam.
Quilt Trimming is $10.
Rush fee of $35 is available.
A few things to remember:
Backing fabric should be a minimum of 4 inches larger than your quilt top on each edge (meaning a combined minimum of 8 inches in width and 8 inches in length).
Just like our great state of Texas, everything is bigger including your backing! Cutting to 4 inches exactly might not provide enough allowance for your longarmer - 6 inches is preferred and 10 inches is wonderful!
Square is best for quilt backing - wavy edges can cause loading issues in the frame
Keep your selvedges from your backing’s edges - selvedges provide a straight edge for loading into the frame, which is a huge help to your longarmer. Don’t cut the selvedges from your backing’s edges.
Whether you cut the selvedges within the seam of your backing is your choice, however it is strongly recommended using a ½” seam for your backing if at all possible to provide extra stability when finishing the quilt.
